Day trip Agua Caliente Canyon . Multi-sport Day Trip Starting on foot from Huerta los Mangos, hike this majestic granite canyon at the base of the Sierra de la Laguna and discover its pristine swimming holes and waterfalls. After a refreshing swim, hike up the canyon walls, following old paths used by local rancheros, until you reach Las Vinoramas Ranch. Have a delicious regional meal at the ranch in Doņa Maninas traditional kitchen. Then return to Huerta los Mangos by bike, taking easy, downhill back roads through scenic vistas. Optional: Return to Huerta los Mangos by car.
Day trip Santa Rita Canyon . Multi-sport Day Trip Departing from Huerta Los Mangos by bike (or by car for those who prefer this option), ride on back roads through desert mixed with farm land to the San Jorge ranch. From there continue by foot on an easy hike to Santa Rita canyon. After a delicious regional lunch, explore Santa Rita canyon and spend the rest of the day swimming in its granite fresh water pools and natural hot springs. Observe desert wildlife ranging from iguanas to cardinals and learn about local plants and their uses. Beautiful views of the sierras on the way to and from Santa Rita. Return to Huerta los Mangos by car.
Day trip San Dionisio Canyon . Multi-sport Day Trip Great trip if you are driving from La Paz to San Jose (or the other way around) and want to stop in the area for a day´s exploration.
Starting at Santiago town, ride in our truck to El Refugio Ranch (optional strenuous uphill bike ride part way). From there, it is an easy hike down to San Dionisio canyon. Spend the rest of the day exploring the beautiful canyon and swimming in its granite pools of water, as well as playing on several natural water slides. San Dionisio is seldom visited, but offers one of the most pristine stretches of river in Sierra de la Laguna. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the ranch fixed by Doņa Luz and learn to make your own tortillas over an open fire. Easy, beautiful downhill bike ride part of the way back to Santiago.
